a long tradition of excellence
For more than twenty-five years, Adult Care of Chester County has been providing adult day services to the local community. We opened our doors for the first time in 1983, and have been expanding ever since. From our beginnings in one tiny center, to our current variety of services offered in two locations, ACCC has grown from the start.
A brief timeline of a few landmark events in ACCC’s history:
1983: We first open our doors in Exton
1987: We open a second center in Kennett Square
1988: We move to a new location, combining both centers. Our name – Adult Care of Chester County, Inc. – is established.
1993: ACCC is selected by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to be part of a national demonstration project. With this funding, we form the Kilpatrick Memorial, Friendship Circle, and Club programs. Music Therapy is also added to the core services of the center.
1997: We move into our new, custom-designed facility in Exton.
1999: We open a full commercial kitchen in our Exton center. We also start an exercise program with free weights.
2004: We open our Southern Chester County Center in Kennett Square.
2010: We are awarded the Excellence in Care Program of Distinction Award from the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
